WebChat: Your Testing Ground

WebChat is built into OpenClaw. There is nothing to install, nothing to configure, and nothing to break. It runs on localhost as part of the gateway.

When to Use It

  • First-time setup — Verify your agent works before connecting external channels
  • Testing skills and prompts — Iterate on SOUL.md changes without spamming your real channels
  • Quick access — When you are at your computer and want to talk to your agent without switching apps
  • Debugging — When a channel is misbehaving, test the same message in WebChat to isolate whether the issue is the channel or the agent

Access

Once OpenClaw is running, open your browser to:

http://localhost:3000

WebChat does not support group conversations. It is a single-user, single-session interface.
